The teams at 0800 Repair and Oakes Energy Services are leading the way in spreading holiday joy in Hendon this Christmas, through their generous support of Back on the Map’s enchanting Santa’s Grotto.
Back on the Map, a Hendon-based charity dedicated to transforming the Sunderland community into a stronger, more connected place, has partnered with local schools to identify families who would benefit most from experiencing the magic of their Winter Wonderland.
Located on Villette Road, the grotto invites children to meet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their cheerful elves. Each child receives a delightful selection box, with 100 of the boxes coming from the teams at 0800 Repair and Oakes Energy Services.
The Santa’s Grotto is just one part of Back on the Map’s busy schedule of festive activities this year. The charity has also launched its “Festive Food Fund,” a vital initiative aimed at collecting donations to provide food boxes for those in need this winter.
To support Back on the Map’s ongoing mission or contribute to the Festive Food Fund, please visit http://gofundme.com/festive-food-fund or contact the team at enquiries@backonthemap.org. Together, the community can make this holiday season a truly special time for everyone in Hendon.
Rachel Richardson, social value champion at 0800 Repair said: “This donation showcases the power of collaboration between businesses, clients, and charities in making the holiday season brighter.
“A special thank you to Gentoo for connecting us with such a fantastic cause.”
Pat Johnston, community services manager at Back on the Map said: “The Grotto is a great chance for us to meet more of the people in our community and introduce them to different types of support they might need and activities they could get involved in.”
