Delivering a complete off-grid solution for Five Acres Community Garden CIC

We’re proud to have supported Five Acres Community Garden CIC with a fully integrated off-grid infrastructure solution, helping create a sustainable and resilient environment for the incredible work they do supporting school leavers and adults with additional needs.

Situated on five beautiful acres in Brafferton, the site required a reliable and self-sufficient approach to energy, water, and wastewater services.

Oakes Energy designed and delivered:

☀️ A ground-mounted Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), providing renewable energy generation and storage to power the site independently.

💧 A new potable water supply via a borehole installation, delivered alongside our specialist partners, including all testing, flushing, filtration, and regulatory compliance requirements.

♻️ A complete wastewater and sewerage treatment solution, delivered with specialist partners, providing a sustainable onsite wastewater management system.

By combining renewable energy generation, battery storage, independent water supply, and wastewater treatment infrastructure, we have helped create a truly off-grid solution that supports the long-term sustainability of this fantastic community facility.

The entire system is now fully commissioned and operational, with excellent feedback from the client. It’s rewarding to see the infrastructure performing as designed and providing a reliable, sustainable solution that will support the organisation for many years to come.

Projects like this demonstrate how integrated energy and utility solutions can unlock opportunities for organisations operating in remote locations while reducing environmental impact, improving resilience, and delivering long-term value.
