"Testimonial for works carried out at Castle Close and Tindale Drive in Whickham, Newcastle and Catherine Mill, Whitehaven.

The above three schemes have commercial boilers serving Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) independent living schemes. There are 24 flats each at Castle Close and Tindale Drive, and 32 at Catherine Mill. Oakes Energy were very proactive and helpful at the pre start meetings where the Consultant Heating Engineer attended. Catherine Mill was particularly challenging with heat exchangers in each flat and a boiler room on the third floor. Resident safety and communications were discussed, and we agreed processes together.

Castle Close and Tindale Drive were both completed on time and to budget with only good comments from the residents about the works and the lack of disturbance. At Catherine Mill, they faced issues such as the impact of the higher water pressures on the old distribution system, with the threat of leaks. Changes to the consultant’s design were needed and they both worked well together on a successful design. Getting the heat to residents at the right temperature was particularly challenging. Oakes Energy were very proactive in helping to solve any issues quickly and effectively.
